History

Estonian Defense Industry Union (EDIU) was founded on 19-th February year 2009. On the 25-th February EDIU was registered as a non-profit organization on the register. The founders of EDIU were Taavi Veskimägi, Jüri Käo, Jüri Ilves and Neinar Seli.

 

Mission

The mission of the EDIU is to create better opportunities for their member companies on the markets of goods and services for defence purposes and to contribute thereby to increase in the defence capability and economic development of Estonia.

 

Tasks of the EDIU

  • Representation and protection of interests of members of the Union and establishment of new opportunities in relations with consumers, developers and manufacturers of products of the defence industry.
  • Development of cooperation with Estonian and international organisations in order to achieve the aims of the Union.
  • Collection, dissemination and intermediation of information related to the area of activity of the Union to its members and the public.
  • Other activities, which are necessary or useful to members and in agreement with the aim of the Union as specified in these articles of association.
